Basements below ground for parking, storage and more, like tunnels and subway stations
Usually made up of basements below ground that are utilised for parking cars, mechanical rooms, services, storage, electrical rooms, businesses, or other purposes. Cut & Cover Tunnels, UG Metro Station boxes, or foundations are also part of them.
Most of the time, a Type A barrier system with fully bonded membrane systems based on IS 16471: 2017 is suggested. This is often combined with Type B integral crystalline waterproofing admixture for structural protection and/or Type C drainage systems for extra protection.
Because these structures are buried and hard to get to after they are built, the waterproofing system for UG constructions needs to be carefully planned and built to the best possible standards.
